It's July 2006 and another Tour De France has come and gone and surprise for the 8th straight year it was won by an american.Consequently for the 8th straight year th winner Floyd Landis like his predessor Lance Armstrong has been accused of cheating . apparently his blood tested positive for excessive amounts of tetosterone. Are we surprised by the accusation? We shouldn't be after all we are talking about the French.France is the only country in the world that believes the credibility and progress of the american cycling program is a more important threat to global stability than terrorism is.The second reason we should not be surprised is this the tour de france is the only thing the french have going for them it attracts cyclist from around the world,it increases tourism, you get the point....The final reason we shouldn't be surprised is simply put The french hate us!And why do they hate us?America has always stood up and fought for it's principles, she has tried to right injustices around the world and defended itself and it's allies against tieriny and terror. What have the french done ?Well during wwII they bent over a table voluntarily for nazies, they spent the last 50 odd yrs trying to wash off the stench of cowardness.Thier master plan to accomplish this ; start a fight with the biggest dog in the yard over a bike race"HeyFrance here's a suggestion '' if you want to erase your cowardly past jump on the band wagon and fight global terrorism !!! Stop whining about male hormones and grow a set...................!

JUSTICE vs VIGILANTEISM

The American Justice System provides two options for the outcome of a criminal case. The accused is either guilty or not guilty. However, There is a growing trend among prosecutors and the media to adopt a third option; That being " To Appease the Public".
What this means is this, The accused is probably innocent but because of the public interest and the media's influence, we feel the need to put the person in prison in order to look good in the eyes of the public and to avoid criticism from the media.
The problem with this lunacy is this, When guilt or innocence is proven justice is served. When " To Appease the Public" is envoked we have vigilanteism.
The proponents of this idiocy don't seem to understand, THIS IS AMERICA, WE DO NOT PUT PEOPLE IN PRISON " TO APPEASE THE PUBLIC". WE PUT PEOPLE IN PRISON WHEN GUILT IS ESTABLISHED! Anything less than that usurps the constitution and opens the door for kaos and anarchy!

THE PUBLIC"S RIGHT TO KNOW

On january 5, 2006, the body of a man named Jeff kashmir was discovered lying in the street in Olyphant, Pa. He had apparently been run over and killed. This happened between 11:00pm and 11:20pm. Approximately TEN minutes after the body was discovered, the driver of a black Late model Mazda returned to the scene. The young lady sought out the Police and described what happened. She came around a corner, saw something laying in the street, and unfortuneatly did not see it in time to stop and could not avoid hitting the body. The young lady paniced and left the scene only to return TEN MINUTES later. The young lady was taken to a local hospital two hours later for a blood alcohol test. TWO HOURS LATER!
After crash recreations and a "Grand Jury Investigation" this person was charged with DUI, homicide by vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident where a fatality occurred and one other charge which escapes me at the moment. All this despite the fact that Mr. Kashmir was lying in the road when she hit him. I should mention that Mr. Kashmir's blood alcohol level was more that THREE TIMES the legal limit and he was illegally lying in the road.

I should note that the young lady was not arrested the night of the incident, and subsequently her name was not relased to the media. The local newspaper, The Scranton Times took exception to this and over the next few months attempted to pressure the Lackawanna County District Attorney's office to release her name. Their demands fell on deaf ears. In a last ditch effort the Paper filed papers in court to try to get her name, It cited a Pennsylvania law loosely translated The Public's Right to Know Act. This request was denied by the court. The young woman eventually released her name on her own.
Thoughtout thes past nine months this newspaper has printed LIE on top of LIE about this case. The LIES range from stories about this woman being arrested the night of the incident to the amount of time that passed before sh returned to the scene, and something even more heinus This paper reported that this woman was a relative of an unnamed but extremely powerful public figure! All the time hiding behind their perception of the public's right to know. Now if the public has the right to know under the law, does that mean that it (the public) has a right to know the truth or does it give the media carte blanche to LIE, like the Scranto Times Is doing in this case?

When will the American peaple wake up and put a stop to the manipulative entity that has become all too powerful. This case is just one example. We have seen others in the last few years; need I remind you all of The CBS debauckle involving the President?

On a persoal note, I was with this young woman that night prior to the accident, I will always believe she is innocent, and some day I will prove it. I don't care who I piss off or how much imformation abut that night is suppressed , IKnow she is INNOCENT! There is a vital piece of imformation that has not been released, sooner or later that imformation will be revealed!

As per usual all comments are welcome as long as their are intellegent and thought provoking and not mind numbingly stupid!

follow up

I want to write a follow up to the price gouging oil companys. I would like to hear some feedback first. so don't be shy. and remember I did not touch on heating our homes. YET

exotic animals

I saw a trailer for a video story about having wild animals ( lions, tiger, bears, monkeys; whatever) for pets. Now I personally love tigers, white tigers especially. They are beatiful majestic creatures. That being said I would not want a 500lb tiger IN MY LIVING ROOM! Call me crazy, but no way! People who own these animals do not know how to care for them nor do they know how to not only protect themselves they don't know how to protect the animals. So, as an animal lover, I implore you if you feel the need to own an exotic animal, get a striped cat from the humane society and name it TIGER!

Price Gouging and collusion in the Oil Industry

I read an ariticle today (5/3/06) concerning gas prices in this country rising as a result of price gouging and collusion perpetuated by the oil compnies. Lets comment om gouging first. The price of gas has risen 80 cents where i live in Pennsylvania in the last 4 weeks. Not because of any crisis or anything like that, but because of the good weather we are experiencing and because ot the Easter holiday. Oil companies simply found a way to increase their profit by raising prices to an astronomical level. They aren't stupid they know people are going to travel in good weather and the holiday. Now, I have no problem with business's making a profit, that is the general idea, however, the oil comanpy executives tried to tell the American people the price increase was do to the modest increase in crude oil prices. Then, the news of record profits in the industry becomes public, showing the country what it is all about; PROFIT! Now, I have no problem with any company that profits from whatever it sells or manufactures, refines, or buys from someone else and sells, but don't under any circumstances tell me it's because a six dollar incease is going to force them to tighten their belts or go out of business! Especially when Pennsylvanians alone are paying 80 cents more per gallon! I would do the math but for anyone who reads this I'm pretty sure I don't have to.

Oil company execs are trying to tell us there is no collusion among them to drive prices of gas up. That is a bold faced lie! When the gas station in the middle of Main Street USA raises its prices 5 cents a gallon on a Tuesday morning and twenty minutes later the competing station down or up the street raises its prices 4 cents a gallon we have collusion! Think about it, as the price goes up consumer need stays the same. we buy gas, the same amount every week, only now, we spend 80 cents more per gallon whereever we go. The oil companies know this, So they raise prices to within a few cents of its competition. Thus we have COLLUSION!

SEPT. 11, A DAY IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICA

There are two things Americans should always remember about the 9/11 terror attacks. First, we should not and can not ever forget what those animals did to our country and countrymen. Second, and more importantly, we must never forget those whose lives were lost. We must continue to honor their memorys' and lives forever. The minute we stop the terrorists win.

That being said, there are two things this country must stop doing. First, we must all stop using the attacks as an excuse for EVERYTHING! The federal government uses it as an excuse to spy on its own people ant userp constitutional law governing basic civil liberties. 2) The airlines use it as an excuse to grossly inflate fares and turn around and blame the increas onextra security measures needed because of 9/11. Then, they wonder why the industry is going bankrupt. 3) Employers refusing to increase wages of employees and/or refusing to pay or offer benefits because of what the 9/11 attacks did to their industry.

The second thing, we must stop being victims! It has been four years since the attacks. When are we going to stop being victims? These people hit us and hit us hard. Does that mean we should paint our windows black and hide in a closet wondering when the next attack will occur? Does it mean we cower in a corner every time we hear a loud noise? When does it stop?

Our elected officials told us we should get back to normal routines as quickly as possible, how are we supposed to do that when all we hear from them is that we might need more broad and less restrictive policies governing what the intelligence and law enforcement agencies can do in this country? Employers are even worse, they deny raises and downsize their workforces in order to "cut costs". In reality, the majority of them do it to increase corporate profits and bonuses of ownership and high level corporate officials.

Now, I understand this is not necessarily true of all of corporate America, some industries took a serious hit, but after four years there has to have been recovery.

It has been brought to my attention that I may have slipped to the LIBERAL way of thinking, let me dispense with that notion right now. I have no problem with corporations making a profit; I have a problem with them lying to me about it. What I mean is this, a company makes one million dollars this year in profit (the black line), Next year its black line is 950,000 dollars, the companies ownersip will tell its employees it took a loss or that it lost money, in reality, it simply did not make as much profit. I draw on my own experience as an example, a few years back I worked for a large retail electronics corporation. I was paid on a commission(percentage of sales)basis. The company decided at the end of the year to RESTRUCTURE its commission rates. Basically, it decided to lower them so the compay would be paying less in payroll. The question was posed to a member of management WHAT IS THE REASON FOR THE PAY CUT? This managent persons response was that it was not a paycut but an oppurtunity to maximize sales oppurtunities and it was being done because the company LOST MONEY last year implying the company dipped from a profit to a loss, thereby putting the solvency of the company in peril. After doing a little research, I discovered that the LOSS was a minimal drop in profit not a corporate money crunch that would have caused bankruptcy. Needless to say, I no longer work for that company. The bottom line is don't tell me the company is in financial straights when the truth is you simply want to make more money. I will have more respect for you if you are honest.

Democrats and the war in Iraq

I recently watched one of the networks morning news shows and watched as former Presidential candidate John Kerry once again showed why he lost the election. I listened to him say that what the democrats in congress wanted was an "estimated" withdrawal time for american troops in Irag. Yet, we have all heard the media report how the democrats are calling for an immediate withdrawal.

This constant fluctuateing on important issus is not good for this country. Strong desisive leadership is essential for the survival of our way of life. Indesision from our leaders leads to our enemies believing they can disrupt and destroy FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY and as AMERICANS we can never allow that to happen!! The destruction of Freedom and democracy would mean the perpetuation of tyranny and Kaos. This world needs a strong America in order to send the message to the Suddam Hussiens of the world that they can not and will not be allowed to commit mass murder and genecide. These people must be stopped and the John Kerrys of the world have showed they can not be trusted to do so!

The bottom line is: TAKE A STAND AND STICK BY IT!
